Known commonly as the Native Gardenia due to the scented, white starry flowers displayed on this evergreen rainforest tree. Considered a small tree, it can grow upwards of 5m in optimal conditions with a canopy forming habit.

Known for its beauty and fragrance it is an easy tree to grow. Being evergreen, it is low maintenance and low mess. Light pruning can encourage denseness for a screen or windbreak or grow it as a feature tree.

Naturally native to North Queensland and often found growing in the shade of a rainforest, it can hold it’s own out in a sunny area. Tolerant of wet and requires moderate watering to become established. Drought tolerant once established.
